How To Make Your Hotel Room Feel A Little More Like Home

Let's be honest, no matter how luxurious your hotel room may be, there is nothing as comforting as sleeping in your own bed. As we all know being on the road filming a TV show can be exhausting, but having some comforts from home can help out even just a little bit.

Here are some tips I've found that can make living on the road more bearable.

1. Pack your favorite pillowcase from home.

I'm not a fan of stiff crisp hotel sheets and have been obsessed with these fancy (a bit pricey) Slip silk pillowcases. Regardless of whatever type of pillowcase you prefer, I find it easier to sleep with the one from home.

2. Scent

Whether it's your favorite candle, room spray, or travel size diffuser, familiar scents will remind you of home and make the space more cozy. Make sure to check with the hotel about their policy on lighting candles in the room.

3. Flowers

IF possible I like to buy fresh flowers for my room. When I am home, I like putting together all sorts of flower arrangements so why not do the same on the road!

Realistically hotel flowers would look NOTHING this elaborate, but I’m proud of this one.

4. Slippers!

I strongly dislike walking around hotel rooms in socks let alone bare feet. Slippers make everything just a little more comfy.

5. Stock up on your favorite food & drinks

Whenever I get to a new city I make a trip to the grocery store and stock up on my preferred snacks and beverages. This means my mini fridge is usually full of sparkling waters and wine.

6. Unpack your clothes

For me this really just means a combination of clothes in the drawers and closet but also draped over every chair, couch, flat surface etc. in the room. Just like at home!
